🎸 James Blain – Musician Bio

James discovered his passion for music at the young age of eight, when he first began playing guitar and singing. After college, he took his talent on the road, touring nationally as a solo act with performances spanning Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Nashville, Las Vegas, Reno, and Lake Tahoe.

In 1981, James settled in Northern California, where he became a sought-after lead singer and guitarist with several Bay Area bands. Over the years, he has shared the stage with an impressive lineup of recording artists, including Jerry Garcia, Steve Hackett (Genesis), Commander Cody, Taj Mahal, Jonathan Edwards, and Richie Havens—to name just a few.

Known for his wide and dynamic vocal range, James effortlessly moves from a smooth, angelic tone to a gritty, raspy edge. Coupled with his virtuoso guitar skills, his performances captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression wherever he plays.
